Athletic pursuits at UM aren’t just for those wearing an official Falcons uniform.

The UM intramural program is the perfect place for students to unleash their competitive spirits, interact with peers and faculty, and take a much needed study break. Intramurals are available to any student, faculty, or staff member who has an interest in joining a team. Teams compete throughout the year in flag football, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, basketball, and kickball. At the end of each year, a men’s and women’s team claims the UM Intramural Cup. If you’re looking to get some exercise and have some good clean fund, join an intramural team – or rally the troops and start a team of your own!

Fall Sports

Flag Football

One of our most popular activities, teams face off on the intramural field in America’s favorite sport, minus the tackling part. Flag football is the first of our fall intramural sports. A three week regular season format will take place, followed by a two day playoff tournament.

Ultimate Frisbee

Whether you know how to throw a “flick” or have never touched a frisbee in your life, ultimate frisbee is a great way to compete against peers in an energetic environment; just be prepared for lots of running! A three week regular season format will take place, followed by a two day playoff tournament.

Volleyball

Volleyball is the intramural sport with the highest participation. As the weather begins to change, intramurals will transition into Myrick Gym for our indoor activities. A three week regular season format will take place, followed by a two day playoff tournament.

Spring Sports

Basketball

After returning from holiday break and finishing College Night festivities, intramural basketball season will round out our indoor sports. A three week regular season format will take place, followed by a two day playoff tournament.

Kickball

New to the intramural program, men and women’s kickball concludes intramural sports for the school year. Students, faculty, and staff return to the intramural fields for another round of competitive play! A two week regular season format will take place, followed by a two day playoff tournament.
